Downtown Association Bainbridge Island Downtown Association Since 1986, the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association has worked to increase the sense of a downtown community "by collaborating with the City, businesses, community members and nonprofit organizations to build and sustain our vibrant downtown through design improvements, promotional events, publications and economic actions." And the efforts show! The downtown area is vibrant and full of new businesses with more coming in every year. The organization is active in local politics to insure that not only is the downtown area but the community as a whole benefits from the national marketing exposure the Island receives.
