Bloedel Reserve
Bloedel Reserve 150 Acres of Amazing Gardens Unless you are a gardener, or a termed resident of Bainbridge Island, The Bloedel Reserve may never come into your awareness. However, this is definitely not to be missed. Formerly a private residential estate of the timber-baron Bloedel family, it is now opened year-round, by reservation, to the public to provide access to its 150-acre nature preserve and gardens. This unique sanctuary supports an awe-inspiring Japanese garden, moss garden, reflection pond, bird refuge and forest. If you concentrate only on the second growth forest that comprises almost half of the acreage, you would miss the amazing view of Puget Sound and the lovely French-influenced mansion turned visitor's center. At their Website you can book a reservation or peruse a list of lectures, concerts and special events that occur throughout the year. |
