Transportation Getting around Bainbridge Island is easy given that the Island is only 28 square miles. We walk, we bike, and we drive. But, in terms of public transportation, getting to the Island from Seattle is via the Washington State Ferry System. Getting around the Island or off the Island to neighboring cities is via Kitsap County Transit. Kitsap County Transit also operates a variety of specialty busses for those with physical challenges and special needs. Local taxi service is available as well as limousine service to and from SeaTac Airport.
